For a true taste of the Colorado vibe, take a trip to Downtown Manitou Springs. There you'll find shops, restaurants, breweries, the Penny Arcade and much more. It's a short 15-minute drive from the condo.
At 14,115 feet tall, Pike's Peak is the most tourist-friendly mountain in the state. You can either drive up the mountain (for a fee), or, if you're an experienced hiker, you can hike to the summit via the Barr Trail. The base is just 25 minutes from the condo.

A spectacular park comprised of hundreds of natural rock formations, open space, and wildlife. You'll see mule deer, bighorn sheep and more while driving or walking through the park. The sunrises and sunsets here are incredible! Only 15 minutes from the condo.
If you're looking for a place to take the kids, this is it! Visit Santa's workshop, ride amusement rides, enjoy some funnel cake and touch the North Pole! It's only open from May thru November, but if you happen to be here at that time, don't miss it. Your kiddos will love you for it! Near the base of Pike's Peak, it'll only take you 20 minutes to get here from the condo.
The North Pole – Santa's Workshop | Colorado Springs, Colorado
With 2,768 steps and a 2,000-foot rise in elevation in just under a mile, don't be intimidated by this monster. It's a physical challenge like no other but just about anyone can take a shot at it. Hike it alone or with friends. Either way just be sure to take plenty of water, sunscreen and a lot of determination. Contrary to what you read online, no reservation is needed. Just go! Good luck!
Located in North Cheyenne Canyon Park, this is one of the easiest falls to hike. It's open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Don't be fooled by the exterior! Easily the most unique brewery and eatery you'll ever visit. Here you can enjoy craft beers, lots of unique food, a whiskey lounge, and the ambiance of a retired elementary school built in 1916 (yeah, an elementary school!). Crazy huh? Trust us, it's a can't miss! You can find the Ivywild School in Manitou Springs.
Hidden in a quaint town called Victor, and located behind Pike's Peak, lies a unique piece of art and guardian of the ground, Rita. Made entirely of recycled wood, Rita fills in the holes left by former miners. Road trip! This one is about an hour from the condo and you can stop by Cripple Creek afterwards.
Food! Food! Food! Oh, and other stuff too. The Farmer's Market in Old Colorado City is just about 10 minutes from the condo and happens every Saturday from June til October.
With an Old Western style feel to it and the quietness of a small mountain town, this gem sits behind Pike's Peak at an elevation of 9,456 ft and is home to more than a dozen casinos. If you're up for a short road trip, you can find Cripple Creek up in the mountains, about an hour from Colorado Springs. Be sure to visit our favorite, the Chamonix Hotel, while you're there!
An incredible place to watch a sunrise. Less than 10 minutes from the condo, you can see the sunrise of a lifetime from dozens of vantage points!
First, don't be fooled by the name; you don't have to be a wine drinker to enjoy this place. We can't possibly say enough about this diamond in the rough. Unassuming in appearance and sitting next to a creek near the bottom of Pike's Peak, this cozy cabin not only has wines exclusively made in Colorado, but it's got a menu with something for just about anyone. Hands down THE best spot for a romantic dinner; make an entire night of your visit. If you're a whiskey or bourbon fan, don't miss the Old-Fashioned flight!
Tamie says the Que Pasa Mexi Lager here is worth a visit alone, but I vote for the Rockpile Red Ale. The house brews are fantastic, the atmosphere is hip, and the food is delicious (Tamie highly recommends the Thai Peanut Chicken Bowl). Sit by the indoor fireplace upstairs at night or take in the view of the Front Range from the upstairs outdoor patio.
Just a few hundred yards from the condo, this is some pretty authentic Mexican food. The Birria tacos are off-menu but be sure to ask nicely and you'll get to try some of the best. Complete with a bakery and salsa bar at the front, you'll taste the authenticity in every bite! This is definitely our go-to for Mexican food in Colorado Springs.
Another amazing restaurant in the Colorado Springs area - in Green Mountain Falls to be exact. The community is just authentic Colorado and feels like walking through a storybook.
Cantina Verde has the most beautiful, upscale-cabin interior and the most delicious dishes. I had the Green Chili Chicken Salad, and it was soooo fresh and so flavorful. They had homemade chicken tortilla soup, steak quesadillas, churro cheesecake and a variety of other options. The restaurant is nestled by the most adorable pond and gazebo. The staff were all very welcoming and personable. They also have a big rooftop area for when it's warm!
We know, it's a chain...however, stay with me... This place, if you prefer chains, is over the top good! There's so much good food here that we haven't even decided which dish is our favorite. Seriously, it's that good!
You might not think highly of chain restaurants (we aren't usually fans either), but this one breaks the mold! $6 happy-hour hamburgers and tall beers make a great end to a long day of hiking.
We were lucky enough to discover this place while on a late-night hunt for a burger.
